The memorial
Half a percent of every trade goes to buying NFTs from other collections and destroying them. Not reselling, not holding, not lending. The NFTs go to a burn address nobody has the key to, where they stay as long as the chain does. The wallet that does the buying is ours and is listed here - the burning is a promise we keep in public, not something the contract forces, and every purchase and every burn is a transaction you can check.
Everything we have burned is listed here with what it cost and the transaction that killed it. Check any of it.

Why burn something we paid for
Straight answer: it does nothing for the REAP price and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Burning another collection's token reduces their supply, not ours. Their holders get whatever benefit there is.
It is here because it is a real, permanent, checkable thing rather than a marketing line, and because half a percent is a size we can afford to spend on something that is only interesting. The part of the fee that actually compounds is the four percent going into your reaper, and that is where the argument for holding lives.
Holders pick the target. The vote runs weekly, the buy happens in public, and the transaction goes up here the same day.
